PHOENIX -- Patrick Corbin and Phil Gosselin know what it's like to be injured, forced to sit and watch their team play for a very long time.
Both are trying to make the most of their chances now that they are back.
Corbin threw six scoreless innings, Gosselin and A.J. Pollock homered and the Arizona Diamondbacks snapped a four-game losing streak by beating the fading San Francisco Giants 6-1 on Monday.
Corbin (5-3), who missed all last season following Tommy John surgery, scattered six hits, struck out five with no walks and had an RBI single.
"I've had games where I've definitely felt better and my stuff maybe's been a little bit better," he said. "I'm just trying to locate and just try to go out there and get deep in ball games. Knowing my pitch count is going to be a little bit stricter this season, I'm trying to maybe even be a little bit more aggressive."
Gosselin's three-run shot was his second home run since being activated from the 60-day disabled list (fractured left thumb) eight days earlier.
"You want to do well and show these guys that you can play but at the same time you don't want to put too much pressure on yourself," he said. "So I'm just trying to go out there and play and have some fun and let the results be what they may."
Mike Leake (9-8) allowed six runs and 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings to fall to 0-3 in his five starts since being acquired from Cincinnati.
San Francisco has lost eight of 10 to fall nine games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.
Gosselin, who also singled and scored, came to Arizona in the trade that sent Bronson Arroyo and 2014 first-round draft pick, 19-year-old right-hander Touki Toussaint, to Atlanta. His one-out homer in the second just cleared the wall next to the 413-foot sign in left center.
In the fourth, Corbin's soft bases-loaded single to left brought in a run and Pollock's sacrifice fly another, Gosselin's left hand touching the plate just ahead of right fielder Marlon Byrd's throw.
"He made a good throw," Arizona manager Chip Hale said, "and if it wasn't for the great slide, (Gosselin) would have been out."
Pollock's solo home run in the sixth ended Leake's day.
The Giants are 1-4 in Leake's five starts.
"It just stinks," he said, "because we are in the hunt and we are not winning when I pitch as much as I like. It is nothing to sulk over. You got to keep competing and hopefully we can pull some out. `'
Corbin escaped a jam in the fourth. Buster Posey's ground-rule double and Byrd's single put runners at second and third with no outs. Brandon Belt flied out to shallow center, Brandon Crawford struck out looking and Jackson Williams grounded out to third to end the inning. Crawford was 0 for 4 and has four hits in his last 42 at bats.
Joe Panik, just activated from the 15-day DL, led off the eighth with a double off Daniel Hudson over the head of Pollock in center and scored on Posey's single.
"Just couldn't do anything offensively," manager Bruce Bochy said. "We had our chances but we got to get some guys come through and deliver."

The Giants purchased the contract of RHP Brett Bochy from Triple-A Sacramento. The son of the manager is making his second big-league appearance. The reliever pitched in three games when the roster expanded last season.
The younger Bochy was 6-1 with a 2.95 ERA in 43 relief appearances with Sacramento.
His father called Brett's call-up "very, very special."
"I'm very proud of him," the manager said. "... He's earned it with the year he's had."

Giants: Panik had missed 34 games with lower back inflammation. ... Bochy said LHP reliever Jeremy Affeldt (left knee subluxation) would be activated from the DL on Tuesday.
