MIAMI -- Jordan Pacheco had three hits, Jordan Lyles won in his Colorado debut as the Rockies held on for a 6-5 victory over the Miami Marlins Wednesday night for their first win of the season.
Charlie Blackmon and Michael Cuddyer each had two hits and an RBI for Colorado, which lost the first two games of the season-opening series.
Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs, all after Miami fell behind 6-1.
Rockies two-time All-Star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez left the game in the sixth inning as a precaution because of dizziness.
Lyles (1-0) was acquired in an offseason trade the sent Dexter Fowler to the Houston Astros. Lyles allowed four runs and five hits in five innings while striking out five and walking one.
LaTroy Hawkins pitched the ninth picking up the save.
After Miami threatened in the eighth, Hawkins allowed a leadoff single to Adeiny Hechavarria in the ninth and walked Derek Dietrich with two outs to bring Stanton to the plate. Stanton delivered an RBI single on a full-count pitch scoring Hechavarria and pulling Miami within a run.
Garrett Jones popped out to third base to end the game.
Colorado led 6-1 heading into the sixth inning before Stanton hit a two-run drive to right field off Lyles. Reliever Adam Ottovino's wild pitch brought Miami to 6-4.
Henderson Alvarez (0-1) pitched a no-hitter on the final day of the 2013 season against the Detroit Tigers, but struggled in his debut this year.
Alvarez allowed five consecutive hits in the first inning, including an RBI double by Gonzalez and run-scoring singles by Justin Morneau and Pacheco giving the Rockies a 3-0 lead.
The Rockies stretched their lead to 6-1 in the fourth sparked by two errors and a wild pitch by Alvarez, which scored a run. Kevin Slowey relieved Alvarez and immediately walked in a run. Cuddyer also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Alvarez allowed six runs -- three earned -- and seven hits in three innings.
Slowey struck out five in four scoreless innings.
